We have two choices for mounting. Buy the 24" ground mount. Or use the included mount, and mount on a post. The Brooklyn Botanic Garden mounted it on a 4x4 that is implanted in a garden. But that leaves some of the wood end grain exposed to rain. Ideally the post is round and matches the diameter of the post. Or not be wood.
